Colonie High School // Colonie, NY

From our Superintendent, Dr. Perry:

iCare is sponsoring Dash for Kindness this upcoming weekend. Essentially, you can walk, run, bike, crawl, hop, skip, or jump a 5k.  All the money raised will be donated to Northern Rivers, which is an organization that focuses on mental health and the designated charity of year. This "race" is also in lieu of Raiderfest, an event we all love to support.

To sign up, just go to With your sign up, you receive a "dash pass" with instructions on what to do and a t-shirt. Dash passes are $25 if you pick them up at the high school (contact Melissa Judge to coordinate pickup time) and $30 if you would like it delivered.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I really feel this is a great way to show our support!

Dear Colonie Community,

It is with great sadness that we write this message to inform you that Raiderfest 2020 is officially canceled.  We look forward to our Raiderfest celebration each year as it has become a cultural staple that helps unite and galvanize our Colonie community.  The planning and coordination of each Raiderfest begins at the close of each prior Raiderfest and as with every planning team, this committee was putting the time, the hours, the creativity and the commitment to host another outstanding event, they should be commended.

As we pivot our focus amid the challenges of COVID19, our Colonie resilience will continue to shine and our commitment to stay united will once again resonate.  So, in the absence of Raiderfest we are currently planning a Virtual 5K called "A Dash of Kindness" set to be run on May 30, locations of all types are encouraged as well as running, walking or hiking, we just want people to be active and involved.  Details for how to register and how to receive your "Dash Bundle" will be shared soon as the planning committee firms up remaining logistics.

Please consult the various South Colonie Central School District communication outlets as well as: or to gather updated information and to get involved.

5K registration will open up and be posted on Friday, May 8 and all profits made will go to assist Northern Rivers and their associated mental health resources; services which continue to grow and blanket the Capital Region via a network of support.

We look forward to everyone getting active and getting out there in support of Northern Rivers during our inaugural Dash of Kindness!

Keep safe, keep healthy and be someone's hope,

Tom & The Raiderfest Planning Team
