May 15, 2021-Colonie High School // Colonie, NY

As we near the end of the school year, iCARE has been working to finalize plans for Raiderfest this year working with Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions. The date will be Saturday, May 15th and the event will be outside at Colonie Central High School.  This year, it is by Invitation Only, due to Covid-related event restrictions. The South Colonie School District would like to thank our community for your gracious support. We anticipate that Raiderfest will be able to welcome everyone back in 2022.

We still plan on kicking off the day with our opening ceremony beginning at 9 A.M. and honoring our Kind Human of the Year. We will also be revealing our student designed School Resource Officer’s new car.

As for the day time events, this year the five elementary schools will battle it out on our “Ninja Lab” obstacle course on the football field. In addition, there will be yard game activities for the students to enjoy. Once the day has finished, we will announce the winning school and hand out some cool prizes.

Later in the afternoon, there will be high school activities such as a kickball game and the Ninja Lab set up as well. In addition, there will be food trucks and tables available for students to purchase food and refreshments as well and the “big trucks” like fire trucks and cop cars will be coming for the kids to look at! The elementary school activities will go until 4 P.M. Starting at 4:30, activities will be available for high school students throughout the evening.

iCARE has continued our partnership with Northern Rivers this year to raise awareness and combat mental health. All money raised from Raiderfest will be going to them! It is our hope that you will stay and enjoy what the day has to offer and see the community together once again. We look forward to seeing you there, masks and social distancing of course!
